Nail Enhancements: Gel, Acrylic & Fiberglass - Safety & Risks

Question
Is the gel process harmful to fingernails.  What is it made of?  Have you heard of "solar"? -  local shop (korean) could not explain what it is. Have had gel process and operator's explanation of product seems it not harmful.  But how safe are the solar, acrylic and fibreglass processes? Are they damaging to the fingernails?

Answer
There are only 3 types of nail enhncements, gel, fiberglass and acrylic and none of them harms the natural nails when applied correctly by and experienced tech. I've heard about solar line by Creative Nail Product but i don't know if this is what you are reffering to. The solar line has a cuticle oil and a balm to mosturize cuticles and hands. If the solar you are reffering to is a type of gel i personally don't know it.
Gel is a type of cyanoacrylate wich begins the process of polimerization when exposed to an UV lamp. It should be flexible enough to break when exposed to higher pressures so that it's doesn't causes the natural nail to break.
