QuestionWhere on earth can I find a good nail tech that isn't just your run of the mill NSS tech? I've tried looking online & i've tried sending emails. I am trying to find a listing somewhere so I don't have to go and call all the nearby salons just to see if they "Prep" properly or if they use MMA products, etc.

Please accept my apologies in advance for the delay in my response. I thought I had clicked 'submit' and it failed to send you my response. Again, my apologies.
I regret that unfortunately, as of yet, the industry is not sufficiently regulated to have a database of who the qualified technicians are, and who are the nss. As it is, we are still unable to rid ourselves of dreaded NSS salons and MMA.. until such time, I doubt that we'll have a regulated system in place.
I also am sorry to report that I'm unable to offer you a contact of whom you should visit for services.
However, you may 'try' the beautytech.com site which houses a message forum for nail technicians. If you watch it for a few days, you'll see who the better technicians are, then you can post your question to one of them asking who THEY would refer you to in your area. The majority of technicians on that forum are licensed, qualified, insured and CONSCIENTOUS and have no tolerance for NSS nor MMA. Anyone who falls short of this is usually 'booed' off of the forum.
In addition, it seems that you are well educated with regards to the industry. Having said that, my best advice is to call local salons and interview the technicians and demand proof of their qualifications in the form of diplomas etc.
