Identifying Nail Tips: A Guide to Types & Application

Question
QUESTION: hi, i just got a set of nail tips at a salon in ny. the technician was not the most talkative so i don;t know what kind of tips i have. she used these plasticky yellow-cream tips that she stuck on with some kind of glue after filing and buffing. she then continued to file and buff and apply some liquid and more of the glue and some powder as well, in 2-3 iterations and then she finally applied polish and a top coat and told me to stick my hands under a uv lamp/air blower. the whole thing took almost 1.5 hours. i've been reading descriptions of other nail enhancements - uv gels, acrylic nails etc. but don;t know which category this falls into. also, the polish coat is chipping off and getting bubbles around the cuticle just after 4 days - what should i do, it seems like a waste to get the nails removed after just a week and after paying $60 for the set. i live in europe and would appreciate any tips on taking care of these nails.
ANSWER: hi kamini
where in europe do u live?
it sounds as though u have had a set of tip & liquid and powder nails, with a gel top coat ( if the lamp was UV)
if the "lamp" was blowing air, then you probably didnt have a gel top coat, but just a normal top coat.
the bubbling could b either lifting of the product from your nail or possibly the nail polish or the top coat might b coming away.
let me know where u live & i will try to find a good tech near u
