French Manicure Length: What Length is Best for a Classic Look?

Hi, i was wondering how long your nails have to be to do a french polish?  i know that i can do it to myself with hardly any white, but when i go to a salon, will they laugh and tell me that they can't do it on nails as short as mine?

i'm a chronic nail-biter and I'm letting them grow now, so i wanna get them painted asap so that I don't start biting again.  the only problem is that i don't like many colors aside from light pink, and i'm sick of that, so i want a french polish.  thnx.

It is hard to do a french on the fingers with no free edge. If you bit them to stumps definately no. But ultimately it is up the the tech. Maybe think about doing  a full set of pink and whites. It would be a durable french nail, give you instant length, and acrylic hurts to bite off. Plus with the money you spend for it and how good it looks you probably won't want to bite ever again!
