QuestionHi, i was wondering how long your nails have to be to do a french polish? i know that i can do it to myself with hardly any white, but when i go to a salon, will they laugh and tell me that they can't do it on nails as short as mine?
i'm a chronic nail-biter and I'm letting them grow now, so i wanna get them painted asap so that I don't start biting again. the only problem is that i don't like many colors aside from light pink, and i'm sick of that, so i want a french polish. thnx.
AnswerYour nails can be as long as they are .... the purpose really of a french manicure is to make your nails, not only look cleaner, more feminine but also longer, the white on the tips gives the appearance of length.
SO, if your nails are short go ahead! You can still have a nice french manicure and get all the benefits of one as well :) Including a bit of growth fom inceasing the circulation! The protection of the base and top coats, not to mention the actual 2 colors applied between the base and top coats that help seal in the color, protect the nail base and the top coat seals in the color to allow it to last longer.
And you are correct when you say if your nails are painted that you will tend not to bite as much, this is correct! YOU will not want to bite at them when they are all painted up and once you see growth the same applies.... This MAY take afew manicure services but I bet you that you will eventually stop biting.
DO please let me know how you are making out with this.., after your 1st, 2nd and 3rd manicure would you post a follow up to me???
I might even have a bit more info at this time to give to you, regarding other ways to help your habit, i would love to see you bnreak this habit, my sister had this habit once as well, I cannot recall ,how she overcome it but I know she has, I must email her to ask.
Best Wishes, Thank you for your post.
Rebecca!
