Black Spots on Nails After Acrylics: Causes & Solutions

Question
I have been getting acrylic nails done for a while now.  But the last two times I have got then done these black dots keep on showing up on the white of the nail.  Looks like little holes.  Brown and black.  I'm about to give up on these nails.  Can you help?
Liz

Answer
hi elizabeth
its always hard to b accurate without seeing what you r refering to!
i think you may b seeing air bubbles that have burst after the acrylic has fully cured.
when the liquid & powder is 1st placed on your nail it takes 2-3 mins to set.
however it takes 24-48 hrs to fully cure.
if the tech has used a mix that is too wet or too dry, there are likely to b bubbles in the product that dont always come to the surface til its fully cured.
if the bubbles are on the surface when they r filed, then a bit of the gritfrom the black file gets stuck into the burst bubble!
if it bursts after u have left salon then anything can get stuck in it.
as to what ou say to your tech.. is difficult.
it is either a mix ratio problem or she is using products that set slowly.
either talk to her about the bubbles and see how willing she is to do something about it, or mayb look for someone that is more experienced?
good luck, liza
