Pregnancy Risk After Starting & Stopping Birth Control: What to Know
QuestionLast night I had sex for the second time with my bf and didn't use a condom. I am, however, on Yasmin and I'm now finishing my second month on it. What worries me is that last night(about 3 hours before having sex), I took my last hormone pill of the month and today I've started the placebos. So now that I'm taking the inactive pills is there a chance I could get pregnant? He pulled out but I'm worried about pre-cum. I panicked when my period didn't start immediately so I took a hormone pill from my next pack today just in case even though I had already taken the first placebo today, should I have done that??
AnswerHi Kelly,
Thanks for your question. You should be ok but there is always a chance of pregnancy, even using any kind of birth control method. The only thing that is 100% preventing pregnancy is abstinence. You would have to ask your doctor about what you did about taking the pill from your next pack because I am not a medical professional. I hope everything works out ok and please be careful about pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. I would recommend abstinence in that you don't have to be worried about these problems and you can be peaceful at this time of your life. Think about it and you can always email me at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com if you want to talk to me more.
