I just had my nails refilled at a salon.  The technician left the nails a little too square for my liking.  Can I file them myself to round them out or will I ruin the acrylic fill?

You can file the acrylic but bare in mind that acrylic is much stronger than your natural nails so you will need a stronger file, also the nail is thicker in the middle of the nail so by filing you can be exposing a thicker part of the nail and be left with a thicker free edge, to avoid this try to file in a angle pointing downwards toward your nail to give your nails the impression of being thinner than actually are.
