QuestionI use backscratchers products, but unfortunately sometimes do suffer with a little lift of the product. Backscratchers say that you only need to use hygenic elegance to prep the nail, apart from the obvious of pushing back cuticle etc. Do you think I could try and use a nail prep solution (dehydrater) as well as hygenic elegance, or should I just stick to the same products? It doesnt happen on all my clients, but on the ones it does is this a good idea to try? thanking you, hope you can help. Lisa x
AnswerIn general, it's best not to break up your system. Each product was chemically designed to work within it, and introducing something from another system (like a prep product) can cause strange chemical reactions, which might result in faster service breakdown, or contamination. I know that Backscratchers is very adamant in stating that no other prep products should be used besides Hygenic Elegance (since it pH balances rather than dehydrates).
I suggest adding another type of enhancement to your menu, such as gel or liquid and powder. Not everyone can wear wraps (just as some can't wear acrylic or gel), and so having another option for them will help to insure that you keep your clients happy and coming back to you; it also makes you more marketable to an increased number of potential clients. And who doesn't want to be able to make more money? :)
I would also suggest contacting Backscratchers for some troubleshooting tips. It's possible that those few clients might just need a little extra attention during the prep process (maybe they have extra cuticle that needs to be removed, for example.) Going straight to the horse's mouth usually provides you with the most helpful tips and tricks. :D
