Recovering Damaged Nails After UV Gel Removal: A Guide
Questionwhat is the best nail treatment for damaged nails after
removing u v gel nails?
AnswerLots of TLC while they grow out. Keep the natural nails short and carefully manicured. Use a good nail strengthener-- one designed for damaged nails. Many companies that make these "prescription" type nail treatments recommend one for "soft, peeling" nails to recover from improper enhancement removal (when product is applied and removed properly the natural nails won't suffer distinct damage) but I personally have found the formulas for "dry, brittle" nails often works more effectively on after-enhancment damage.
And apply cuticle oil daily. I often recommend olive oil because it is inexpensive and easily available-- but there are several excellent blends on the market at beauty supply stores that are manufacturered for the express purpose of treating nails. Just make sure it is an all-botanical oil blend with NO mineral oil. Mineral oil is not suitable for hydrating skin, it will only leave you feeling greasy.
