Maintaining Biogel Nails: Removal & Long-Term Care
QuestionI know that with Biogel nails you should not have to take off the gel and reapply after so long, however I notice that after a few months (2 to 3) and I go for a fill every 2 weeks you can see the older biogel underneath and sometimes little imperfections from filling our airbrushing that has gone onto the middle or side of the nail and covered over with gel..I know this is probably just noticable to me however I am pickly and look after my nails.....Can the gel be removed every 2 to three months to give it that fresh looking appearance? Also my tech will take a nail tip and break the seal off the gel and my own nail and pop them off? Is this okay...I tend to like the look of tips on my nails and like having them done every couple of months but did not know if this was okay to remove the gel this often...Dianne
AnswerYou should never see your old product underneath your nails. Your tech should be removing more product when you are getting a rebalance. And "popping" your nails off is a SERIOUS no no! This rips layers of your natural nail off!!!
It is not necessary to remove ANY type of nail enhancement as long as it is done properly, with good rebalance techniques.
Just because your tech is using a particular product, doesn't mean they are TRAINED to use it to the specifics of that company. Look into their training, and verify that they HAVE any ;)
Good luck, let me know if you need further assistance.
