Overlays vs. Acrylic Nails: What's the Difference?

I do not want to get artificial nails put on but my friend says she has overlays put on.  What exactly are overlays?  She said if I want them I might have to have tips put on.

If you don't want acrylics or "artificial nails" then you would not like overlays. They are exactly the same thing and let explain the difference. You can tradtionally glue on tips over all of your nails and then apply product over that. Thats called acrylic nails.

If you Just put product directly over your natural nails (with no tips) that is called an overlay. No matter what you are still using the same products and Filing the exact same.

I would reccomend that you get manicures every two weeks. Always wear clear polish (Always) to protect your nails. And I am sure your nails will look just as good as your friends. And yours will be real!:)
