Question
Hi! I'm a nail tech, and have run a salon distributor, thought I would let you know. "Solar Nails" She was referring to a product called "Solar Nails by Creative Nail Design" It is Acrylic, thought to have UV protective agents. But I have only met 1 out of 10 people that actually liked it when they used it. There is also, solar oil, solar butter, solar balm, solar manicure, and solar speed spray that are all made by Creative.
Also, I wanted to let you know more about the bacterial growth on that woman's nails. It is basically fungus at it's simplest form, if not taken care of properly could be very harmful. What needs to be done before putting another nail on is, File the very top of the area of growth, and spray with an anifungal agent such as "Kupa, Beautiful Nails, Thymolseptic Spray.
The reason her nail had bacterial grown under the artificial nails is due to a pore and careless nail technician. One of my biggest pet-pives. When a tech is doing a back fill and does not get all the lifted area off of the nail before filling it back in with acrylic, it causes bacteria and moisture to harbor in those lifted areas, which causes greenish brown spots. It is very difficult to get all the lifted area off, and if one can't I suggest spraying with Thymolseptic, and putting Line Out around those areas. I think its INM or IBD that makes it, not sure. Thanks!
AnswerWell, to tell you the truth, there is no such thing as solar nails when we are talking about enhancemnts. Creative has Brisa (gel), Mosaic Powder, Ultra Powder, Perfect Powders, Radical and Redention Plus (Liquid and Powder) and #Fabric (Fiberglass), they do have a SolarManicure line that consists of SolarBalm, SolarOil, SolarSpeed Spray, SolarButter and SolarSilk.
The expression "Solar Nails" to my understanding is used usually by NSS salons (non-standart salons) that take advantage of Creative's reputation on the nail market. What people usually get when they get "Solar Nails" is thick ugly MMA nails that they gladly pay more for.
About the bacterial growth it is not "generally fungus", speacially beacuse fungus can not grow on the nail plate, you can read more about this at http://www.salongeek.com/health-safety-natural-nails/2641-moldy-oldy-fun-guys.ht...
So, if this question is to point out my lack of knowlege i hope i made you see otherwise, if it was meant to critisize my answer, perhaps because it was over-simplified you could have a point, but i usually don't like to get into many technical terms because i deal with general public, not other techs.
