Understanding Duck-Billed Nails: Causes & Description

i am doing my nvq level 2 beauty at college and doing revision questions and one asks to describe duck-billed nail and what causes it but i have checked my text books and on the net and cant seem to find anything related to it or the correct terminology for it. can you help??

sure.  A duck billed nail is when the nail grows upward, like a ski jump. it also usually has wide edges and looks like a duck bill. This is not caused by anything usually its just how the person was born and it is a nail condition which cannot be changed. Sometimes this can happen when you damage your nail at the matrix.
