Why is My Nail Polish Peeling Off? Causes & Solutions

I have long had a battle with polish--while I love it, it peels off the nail in full sheets within a day of application.  With the aid of the natural nail clinic here in town I've managed to stretch that to two, maybe three days IF I do absolutely nothing with my hands.  But now that I'm back to daily swimming, it seems to come off the minute I get in the pool.  Is this normal for all treatments or is it just that my polish does not adhere to my nails?

It depends on a few factors.
Are you having any health conditions? Taking any medications/birthcontrol or recovering from any illness?
How are you prepping your nails prior to polish? What kind of polish are you using? Are you using a top and base coat?
