Gel Nail Crumbling from Tip: Troubleshooting & Solutions

Question
I saw a question similar about a gel nail crumbling from the tip, the solution was getting rid of the tip blender. In my case I use brisa gel and did not use a tip blender I have went over everything accordingly but do not know what the problem may be. I have checked my bulbs, curing time is accurate, did not over prime ect... Do you have any idea what the problem may be since this is the only client that seems to be having this problem and I use the same method with everyone else. Thank-you Kara

Answer
There could be several reasons. First of all the bond between the nail and the adhesive is always weaker than the bon between the nail and product (gel in this case) so it's normal than when the nail breaks it breaks from the tip. But, if it is breaking to easily it could either be;
- the adhesive - have you left it open, does it glue in 10 sec or in the normal time or does it take longer? If yes you should buy new adhesive.
- your preparation - do you file gently with the 180 grit file to remove shine than use a dehydrator before applying? Be extra sure of this step because it is very important, not only to ensure proper bonding of the tip but also of the product itself.
- the apex - are you creating an apex on the right place and making it strong enough to endure stress applied to the nail? If you press downward on the free edge of the nail you will see a area turning white, this is the stress area and it's the area that should have a thicker application of the product -the apex- this enables the nail to support the pressure without breaking. From personal experience i know that in the begining we don't want to create thick nails to we tend to make the extra thin all over, but it is important to add a tad more over the stress area, as we experiment we will develop the sensibility to know exactly how thick it should be without compromising the look of the nail.
Hope i could help, don't hesitate to contact me again if you have any other questions.
