QuestionI have had acrylic nails on for 3 or 4 years and with the last few fills, I have burning all around my nail bed and underneath the nails. I'm thinking that I may have become allergic to the primer. If you agree, please let me know if there is a product line that does not require the use of a primer.
Thanking you in advance,
Carole
AnswerCarole,
It is quite likely that you have become overexposed to the products due to the tech not being careful when placing the product on your nails.
It is probably the liquid monomer they are using. Do you know what products are being used?
The only thing I can recommend is to have resin on your nails. No primer is necessary for resin.
There are some women who can wear acrylic without the primer, but I would tend to think that is not your problem.
Is it possible for you to ask your tech to put primer on a band-aid and the monomer on another one? You can then put this on your upper arm underneath for 24 hours. If you are allergic, this should show with this test.
Has your tech used a dremel drill and cut your cuticle then applied the product? This surely will cause you to become sensitive to anything put on your nails.
Please let me know how you make out.
buenos dias,
Lynnette
