Safe & Gentle LCN Gel & Tip Removal: Protecting Your Natural Nails

Question
In order to break my nailbiting habit, I got tips (fake nails) with LCN gel back in Jan.  Looks great.  Now my own nails have grown out underneath and I want to get the tips & gel removed, but am concerned about how weak & yellow my own nails may be.  Will they be so weak that they'll all just break off?  Is there something I can do with or without fake nails to build up their strength or do I have to have them cut short after the fake nail comes off?  I know I can put the LCN gel over my own nail, but I'm assuming it still blocks oxygen to the nailbed so wouldn't allow them grow strong on their own?

Answer
Hi Linda,

The great thing about LCN is that the damage is minimal. But with any product your nails will bee weak underneath. You can take them off and let them grow as normal but they will break and you will be starting over! Or you can have your tech file the LCN as thin as possible on top then down to your own length. Then apply a sealant this will start the growing out process.Go in every few weeks for a manicure at this visit buff the product that might be loose
(key word BUFF not file)
Polish and do the same in a few weeks this way you are not completely removing the product you are letting it slowly grow off.

Good luck!!!
