LCN Nail Replacement: Addressing Yellowing Concerns & Salon Practices

Question
QUESTION: I've been going to the same nail salon over 16 months now.  I got my initial LCNs done and since then have had fill ins every 2-3 weeks.  Last week, my technician said I need to have my LCNs taken off and replaced every 3 months or else my nails will yellow.  My nails are not yellow, they have a sign in the salon that says LCNs will never turn your nails yellow, and no one has ever mentioned in the entire time I've been getting these done there that they needed to be removed and replaced.  Suddenly I'm concerned that this is a money issue as it costs double to replace them as it does to get a fill in. Am I being played or do these LCNs need to be removed and replaced every 3 months?

Thanks so much for your expertise!

ANSWER: Hi Debbie
I am with you, if your nails look fine, then leave them alone. Most of my clients replace their sets twice a year, unless they do not need it. I have never heard that from any one that I know that works for/with LCN. However, if I find out if that's true, I will update this.
So, did the salon say that they will no longer be willing to provide this service for you if you refuse?

Let me know what city you are in, and maybe we can find someone who is using LCN as well.

Take care, Debbie :)

QUESTION: Thank you so much Brooke!  She didn't say she wouldn't do them, but she did say something about "making it work this time but will need to replace them next time."  With her body language and the look on her face, and the fact that my nails are were no different than any other day that I went in there, I just got really suspicious that she was trying to get me to subscribe to a higher cost treatment when it was not needed.

I live in West Milford, NJ, about 45 minutes northwest of NYC.  LCN is pretty popular in the area, I'm sure you can find someone using LCN as well.

Thanks so much for your help and words of wisdom! I'm impressed!

Debbie

Answer
Hi Debbie
I have been looking for an hour, and I can't find any salons that offer LCN in your city(that are listed on the internet). The best advice I can give you is to call this number during business hours and ask them about salons in your area : (800) 86-NAILS

Hope this helps, good luck Debbie!
