Hangnails with Acrylic Nails: Causes & Solutions

I have acrylic nails and started having a problem with hangnails.  I didn't think this happened with acrylics.  I've noticed my manicurist is not applying the acrylic to the edge of my nail, could this be causing the problem?

Hi Cheryl,

The acrylic shouldn't have much to do with hangnails.If they are really bad it could be a slight reaction to the acrylic. If this is not the case I would get a good nail oil and apply it to your cuticles a few times a day,this should help allot.
