MMA & Acrylate in Nail Gels: A Safety Comparison

Question
hello Brooke, can you help me understand this please? i heard that "EZFLOW gel it" is a"non toxic" product and does not contain MMA making it a safer product to use...and "IBD gel" does conatin MMA and therefore is not.. can you tell me, does "ESN gel" and "NSI gel" contain MMA and acrylate??  thankyou so much xxx"

Answer
Hi Nicole
To my knowledge, there are no reputable gel companies that use Methyl Methacrylate(MMA) in their gels. Acrylates are present in almost every nail product(acrylics, gels and resins). MMA was banned in the early 70's and replaced with EMA(Ethyl Methacrylate), which is the industry standard and considered to be very safe. This is usually only found in acrylics, but not gels.

Most of the gels you are referring to are completely safe and you should be fine with any of them.

Hope this helps Nicole :)
