Enamelled Pin Appraisal: Identifying & Valuing Vintage Jewelry

Question
I have two pins, with two seperate questions:
The first pin is a very delicate enameled (I think) snake with a small diamond on the head wrapped around what I heard called a Missippi River Pearl.  It has a marking that looks like a Krementz hallmark with 14k gold.  I've never seen anything like this, and would like to know if you can tell me where I could find a catalog, or a place to get appraised that deals with this specifically.
The second pin is 3 enameled birds sitting on a branch with greay tahtian?barque? pearls for the belly.  Beautiful detail in enameling and gold.  It's marked M with and underscore 18k and Italy beneath.  I haven't been able to find this makers mark on the websites you listed in your forum-but was curious.

The makers mark I believe to be Krementz is confusing because some the information on the web doesn't really go into the fine pieces, typically only the costume jewelry.  I have several other pins with the same mark, but nothing like the serpent pin.

Thanks so much-I'm looking forward to hearing from you!

Answer
G'day Llessa and many thanks for your query

Sorry for the delay getting back to you. It's Sunday here in Australia and my day off (that's a laugh)...

You really need to get in touch with someone who is more in tune to stickpins - especially from the USA.

There are several other options, such as eBay, and doing a search there. Amazon also has great books on all subjects.

The Insider's Guide to Antique Jewelry is also recommended, but that is a Membership site.

Sorry I can't be of any help. Even so called experts don't know everything ;o)
