Help Me Find a Lost Vintage Costume Bracelet - Possible WWII Origin
QuestionI am looking to replace a bracelet that was given to me from my grandmother and lost about 15 years ago (in Canada). I have done extensive searching on the internet to try and find something similiar and I am completely baffled. I don't want to limit my searches by Canadian sites because my Grandmother had brothers who served in WW2 and I thought maybe they could have brought it back from abroad. Unfortunately I am searching by memory only and this is how I remember the bracelet: It was a link bracelet with each link having a clear rectangle about 1/2" - 1cm wide, 2cm long and 1cm thick (chunky). Inside the clear "plastic" was what looked to be real gold flakes. I remember some green in the plastic too.(Can't rememnber why) I think the bottom of the plastic was cream colored. I can't remember how many links there were but I remember them being attached horizontally. The mounting, or base of the bracelet was silver. I am not even sure what year this bracelet was produced. I thought maybe it was vintage because it was so unusual.
Any help or ideas you can offer me would be greatly appreciated.
AnswerHello Gerry and thank you for your inquiry. As I'm sure you know, it is very difficult to "picture" a jewelry item even with the excellent description you provided. Would it be possible that you have a picture of you wearing the bracelet ? A suggestion might be for you to list it with the description you provided with the Ebay auction "Want it Now" listing at http://pages.ebay.com/wantitnow/about.html
Just copy and paste the above url into your browser address field and hit enter.
I have found several items through this media. Other than that I can only suggest you use your browser "search" using the word bracelet - possibly lucite or confetti lucite and see if you can pull up something similar. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance. Good luck !
