QuestionSeveral years ago I purchased an old antique traveling trunk at a yard sale. While cleaning it out at home, I found what appears to be a vintage plain wedding band. I cleaned it up and found stamped inside "solid gold". It is a small band, likely a woman's size. Could you give me an idea about how old it might be and whether it has any real value? Thanks.
AnswerG'day LaRonda and many thanks for your query
It's unusual to find an item stamped Solid Gold as usually they are stamped with the gold quality, such as 14k or 18ct or similar.
I would suggest you take it to your local FRIENDLY jeweler and have them take a quick look at it. If you want to have it appraised it will cost, but at least then you will have written proof of what it is.
Alternatively; you might like to browse eBay or the Antique Jewelry Fair at http://www.antique-jewelry-fair.com for a similar item.
Hope this helps - Oh any but the way - Well done with the find..!
