QUESTION: How can i get all my scrap 10/14 k gold melt it down and take out every thing but the gold to get 24k gold in my back yard

It is possible to melt down your gold with a plumbers torch but to get pure 24k gold out you need to get a professional smelter to do that. 10/14K gold are alloyed with many metals and are difficult to separate them in your back yard with out the proper tools. Don't take a chance let the pros do it. Thanks

Hi Irving,

The best I can tell you is to find a local metal smelter/refiner in the area and go talk to them to get to know them and tell them your concerns. I have not scrapped any gold in years and I lived in Alaska so it was easy since there are a lot of gold miners selling their gold to the refiners. They will take out smelting charges from the gold you turn in. Most jewelers have a favorite smelter they cash in their extra gold with. If you know someone in the trade  ask around and find out who the pros use. Try to stay away from the gold buying shops they get to much for their trouble. Take your time and find the best one for you. Good Luck
