Identifying & Valuing Vintage 10K Nugget Rings - Expert Advice

Question

Nugget ring
QUESTION: Image of ring I have is attached.  Inside there is a "punch" mark for the lack of a better description.  Cannot make out what/if it says anything.  Believe it to be 10K or more but not sure.  Seen rings like this one?  Bought back in the middle 90's.  Dennis in Texas

ANSWER: Dennis -
the ring appears to be a 10kt y.g. nugget ring, I have seen many like this and it weighs approx. 6.0-8.0 grams if that....the value if 10kt with 2 or 3 small chips on the side is apporx. $48.00 at todays 825/ounce gold + scrap value....

Texas shaped ring
QUESTION: How great you are!  Here is another one I bought about the same time.  This one was "hand made" - I remember I brought him some old gold rings, etc....don't know if he really used them to make this ring or not.  It has 10 small diamond chips (I guess) in the face which I believe to be white gold?  Any input on this one?  Dennis in Texas

Answer
Dennis- the ring appears to be a rhodium finished top ( electroplated over yellow gold, with a machine hammered top to make it appear like its pave diamonds, the diamonds are far and few between with maybe only 6-10 diamonds set. Not sure of the weight of this one as its popular to the area of Texas and I'm in Ohio. Although it seems like its light weight. Ring was CAST and not handmade, he could have had the wax model and used your gold if he told you he did, although I doubt it. Makes a nice pinky ring....
