please can you tell me what the date letter is on my gold padlock? its a very fancy letter u i think.

G'day Sonya and many thanks for your query.
The photo shows the item was made in London but the date letter is not very clear.
Hallmarks change each year, in batches of 20 - 25 years or so, and this could be 1975 OR 1996.
You should be able to work out which is the correct one by knowing when and where you purchased the item. Simply get a rough period and figure out which is in the correct 'Batch' before pinning it down.

Can't hurt anyway and who knows what answers you may get.
