Identifying a Vintage Gold Pencil: WML, 375 & Birmingham Mark

My husbands Uncle left him a gold propelling pencil, it has the letters WML with a small capital D next to it. There is also a 9 and a 375. a sideways anchor and a V. I presume it is 9ct gold, but would like to know when and where it was made

Hello Pauline and thank you for your inquiry. Your item does sound British and the 9 375  means that your item is 9 ct gold. The WML is probably the manufacturer/smith.
