QuestionI'm just your average jewelry lover and sometimes pick up pieces with stones that may or may not real. I'd like to be able to test them myself. Can you recommend a tester that can distinguish between diamond and moissanite as well as identify color stones (and spinel or glass vs gem)? There are so many different ones being sold at quite a wide range of prices. Thank you for your insights and assistance.

The testers on the market need to be used together with each other.
Any of the Moisanite Testers do a good job only if operated carefully!! They are electrical conductivity testers.
The second tester for diamonds is a heat conductivity tester.
Again be sure to read carefully and you should have training before using these to avoid making a costly mistake.
I cant recommend one by business regulations but I have used many of them and they work well.
Again, be sure to read carefully.
