Barclay 12KT Gold Filled Chatelaine - Vintage Silver Tone Flower Brooch
QuestionHello Bill & Sally! I have (I believe) a chatelaine found in some old costume jewelry. It is stamped BARCLAY ??12KT GOLD FILLED. It is a silvertone. Each pin is virtually identical. Each is a 2" flower on a stem with 3 large leaves. The flower, itself, 1 a goodsize stone in the center, with 5 more the same size, around it. Then the same stone is set between the 3 leaves. The stones are an odd color, possibly amythest, or gray looking. There are four rope chains, of 4 different lengths, connecting the two pins. The longest chain measures about 9 inches. It is in the most perfect condition, as if made today. Do you have any knowledge of this - or its age, etc.? Thank you so much for your time. Patty
AnswerHello Patty and thank you for your inquiry. Barclay began around the early 1940's and continued as Barclay until the 1950's. Their jewelry was high quality and is collectible today. You might use your browser search for "Barclay" and check some of the websites that come up for items similar as yours. It sounds very pretty. Hope this helps !
