Gem & Mineral Cutting Difficulty: A Guide for Taurus Ring Saw Users

Question
Hi. I'm trying to find out the relative ease/difficulty of cutting various gems/minerals. I will be using a taurus ring saw, with the so-called 'heavy duty' Mega blade.
One opinion I got was that I should use the mohs scale, and that anything above 5 would just kill the blade too quickly, but they stated that they were surmising rather than definitely knowing from experience.
I know the mohs scale declares relative hardness, but is it an accurate measure of cutting difficulty also?
I would be looking to cut things like lapis lazuli, turquoise, amethyst, peridot, jasper, tigers eye, agate, quartz etc. Any help greatly appreciated!

Answer
Hi Herb,

If the taurus ring is a diamond blade you will have no problem.  If it is not I would sugguest you invest in a diamond type saw 6 inch diameter
and .012 thickness.  They cut all of those materials very easily.
