QuestionI have six Disney character pins that are about 1 1/2 inches tall and gold in color. My mom bought them for me when I was very young and I am now 66! They are in vintage condition. The characters are Mickey, Minnie, Jiminy Cricket, one of the Three Little Pigs, Donald, and Pluto. I would love to know if they have any worth. Thanks so much for your time.
AnswerHello Jan and thank you for your inquiry. I am not a Disney Expert, but do know that early Disney collectibles can run from low to very high in value. I'm unable to give you much in the value area without an actual hands-on inspection, but would advise you to check the pins for any engraving as to metal content karat gold, sterling, etc. If you believe they are precious metal, you might want to have a jewelry estate appraiser do a valuation for you. You might also check your local library for books on collectible Disney to give you an idea of the various "book" values - which don't necessarily reflect the current market values. One good book is "The Official Price Guide to Disney Collectibles, Second Edition (Paperback)" by Ted Hake. You can also purchase it at your local book store or online at amazon.com
