QuestionHope you can help!Do u know when different color jewelry boxes were used by Tiffany? I have original boxes (with their original signed brooches)-one box is white leather (quite old, maybe kidskin) with gold tooling, in a stylized curved edges "cross" pattern, lined with green velvet.Other box is a lighter robins egg blue (?) also quite old, a much different blue than the "blue" used in the last 60years. 2nd-Have great "art nouveau" man's cufflinks, oval shaped, of what appears to be yellow and white gold(?) seamlessly "fused" together, gorgeous workmanship and design, with Tiffany & Co mark on the "figure 8" style "link" that separates the links. HOW CAN DATE THEM FROM MARK?
AnswerHello Sandra and thank you for your inquiry. Tiffany boxes are collectible as is any jewelry item by Tiffany. I have listed below two links that may be of help to you. One is a listing of Tiffany hallmarks with dates and the other is an article from an ebay auction guide regarding the boxes and other Tiffany items. There are fakes on the market, but with your knowledge of the age of items you have that should increase the value. Also Tiffany will research some of the items that bear their hallmark. You can check their site at Tiffany.com. Just copy and paste each below url into your browser address field and hit enter:
