Identifying Your Vintage Brooch: Coro or Capri? - Expert Advice

Question

Brooch
I am trying to identify a piece of vintage jewelry.  It's signed, but the signature is very small.  I can't work out if it is Coro or Capri.  I haven't been able to find any pics that are similar to the brooch I've got.  I really hope you can help me out!!

Answer
Hello Erica and thank you for your inquiry. Your brooch is very pretty and it is difficult to read the signature. The piece looks like it could be either one. If I had to guess, it would be Capri because of the first signature which looks like it has a letter "p" and is longer than 4 letters. Sometimes on older jewelry the letters get worn making it next to impossible to identify. The style doesn't much help since there are similarities in Capri and Coro. There is a book in print now titled "Costume Jewelry 202" that has extensive identification processes for Coro jewelry. You might try your local library or bookstore for a copy. Hope this helps and good luck ! Enjoy your brooch.
