Identifying a Vintage Watch Fob: St. Peters CC & 1895

Question
I have what I believe is a watch fob, that may have been given as a commemorative.  It is a yellow metal but no Karat marking that I could find.  It is an elaborate shield design, engraved on the front with "St. Peters CC" in a banner, above the initials MBF, possibly the recipient's initials.  On the back is engraved "B. & D. C. A." below that "Saunders League" and below that "1895" centered between a horizontal arrow on each side.  It has 3 hallmarks at the bottom, of a lion with paw and tail raised, looking left; Gothic style II; and an anchor with the tangs pointing right.  Below the hallmarks are the makers intials perhaps, J and what may be a K or an R.

Could this be from a baseball league, or perhaps a Catholic Association (the "C. A." )?  So far my online research has turned up nothing for a Saunders League or St. Peters CC, so any hints on where to research further would be welcome.  Thanks so much!

Answer
Hello Donna and thank you for your inquiry. The fob is probably a Catholic sports league of some sort and by the hallmarks, British made. I have listed a site below that may be able to help you with the hallmark. Just copy and paste the url into your browser address field and hit center.

If you can find out the maker via the hallmark then you will have the location. There are quite a few locations for St. Peters Catholic Church and maybe one of them will have records of the older leagues names. Hope this helps and good luck !
