Rhodium Plated Diamond Ring Feels Rough - Seeking Advice

Question
I have recently purchased an 18ct white gold multi stone deco diamond .  When it arrived it looked brand new and I was a little suspicious, but the seller, who has a good record, insists that it is a genuine ring and has had it rhodium plated.  However, I have a couple of deco rings already one silver and one 18ct but neither of them exhibit the rough feeling these stones have.  It catches on everything.  Help!

Answer
Hello Ann and thank you for your inquiry. If I were you, I would either take the ring back (depending on your purchase policy) and state that you are not satisfied with it. If you like it and are determined to keep it, have it appraised and tested for quality and authenticity either by a gemologist or local jeweler. That way, you know if there are any physical problems with the ring and can act accordingly with the seller.  Hope this helps and good luck.
