Antique Ring with 'Root Emerald': Authenticity, Age & Value - Expert Advice
Questionhi, my hubby recently bouth me a lovely looking ring which was sold to him as antique piece. It has the mark 750 so I assume it's white gold, there is a green opaque stone which was described as 'root emerald', it looks a bit scratched. Never heard of such stone myself..The stone is framed in a double circled set of little clar stones which were described as tiny diamonds. Is there a way to know of the age, autenticity and value of this ring please? Hubby bought it in Naples..who knows if he got a good deal?! thank you in advance
AnswerHello,
The 750 should mean 75 percent gold. The green stone could be a natural emerald, I assume it is a cab and not faceted. As to age that is out of my domain. I work mostly with gem stones.
Sorry I am not able to help you more.
