HI! I JUST RECENTLY ACQUIRED A PRETTY PIECE OF JEWELRY.ITS STERLING SILVER RING WITH A AQUAMARINE STONE(?) ITS NOT A SOLID PIECE NOR IS IT REALLY HEAVY. ALTHOUGH IM VERY CURIOS IF THIS IS A GOOD PIECE TO KEEP. MARKINGS ON THE BACK IS OB STERLING.

Hello Dale and thank you for your inquiry. Ostby and Barton were a reputable company in Providence RI and produced many nice pieces of jewelry. Their interesting history ties into the Titanic. They produced sterling as well as gold and most pieces were well designed and manufactured. In order to determine the stone type you would have to have it examined by a gemologist.
