Identifying the Value of a Vintage Gold Ring Found in Germany
QuestionHi, My Grandpap found this ring in Germany during WWll in a grandfathers clock and carried it in his pocket the whole war till he came back home and gave it to my Gram. Pretty Cool!!! It has to be a costume ring but it is set in 12k gold, very pretty and thegold is detailed with a big pinkish-red center stone that is not a ruby. Does this mean that the ring has no monetary value? Thanks for your time and have a great day.
Peace,
Lisa
AnswerHello Lisa and thank you for your inquiry. In order to determine if your ring has any value you would first have to determine the metal content. If it is marked 12K gold, the stone could also be authentic. Combine the two and you might have a very nice ring. You should probably have it checked by a jeweler or estate jewelry appraiser for authentication - great that you know the approximately age ! Good luck and enjoy your ring !
