Resizing & Replacing Stones in Engagement Rings: Gold & Platinum

I have recently bought a engagement ring which on one of the rings has a large set ziconia and the second ring has a row of them on it but i bought it mainly because i liked the style of ring and hoped there could be a way in which these stones could be removed and replaced by other  gems of my choosing. Is this type of work able to be done and where would I go if i lived in S.A AU

As long as the ring is made of gold or platinum there should be no problem exchanging the stones for other stoens. I am not familiar with the jewelers in Australia but you just need to do a little searching at the better stores, not the chain stores, the guild stores. Ask around and compare their prices and their work to see what you think. Bring your ring along and show them.  The good jewelers will do their own work on the premises and should be resonably priced. But make sure you compare and make sure they know you are comparing, that way they will give you the best price. Good Luck and Thanks for asking,
