Engagement Ring Size Guide: How to Get the Perfect Fit

Question

ring.
okay, my boyfriend bought me an engagement ring and i literally had no idea what size i was, so we used the thing on zales website to kind of help guide us along. Well, we did it completely wrong and i ended up getting a ring like 3 sizes too big. i felt so dumb :(
anyway, we ordered an 8 because we thought that was my size and turns out i'm a 5. i was nervous after we bought it, so while in the mall the other day i went and got sized, but i forgot to ask some important questions!

so, my question is...can this mistake be resized?
also. if it can, how long will it take? we ordered it from Zales.

thanks for the help! :)

Answer
Dear Jordan,

You did order it from Zales and they should work with you to get the correct size. I would not recommend sizing this ring down 3 sizes because the stones use shared prongs, meaning one prong is used to set two stones.  Rounding the ring out to a smaller size will spread apart the prongs and the stones will not be secure.

Surely you are not the only person to use the online finger sizer incorrectly. Zales knows that people are going to miss their size using this sort of device rather than a sizer actually fitted to the finger in a store.  Contact where the ring was ordered and explain the situation. Ask to exchange the ring for the correct size.  They should work with you on this.

Lete me know how it goes.  I do not know how long it will take but you do need the correct size and 3 sizes is too, too much in the case of this design.

God Bless and Peace.  Thomas.
