Questionhi
i recently bought a necklace from a car boot and was wondering if it had any value. It is pewter and has the wording "k m j pewter made in norway or it might be just m j" engraved on the back of the pendant the lady that sold it said it was from the 60's.The pendant is a triangular shape with a pattern cut out and 5 rings hanging from bottom hard to describe really. Hope you can shed some light on this . Thankyou
AnswerHi Debbie
Check this link for a KMJ pewter pendant which sold for US$27 in Septemeber this year on Ebay. There were 13 bids so seems it was quite popular.

Cant find out any other info about this company, but looks to me like they created traditional Norweigan designs in pewter during the 1960's.
Pewter is mostly made of tin, and it does not tarnish. It will show a dark patina with age, which is valued by collectors, so best not to clean it with metal polish of any kind. It could detract from the value of the item.
If you really feel it must be washed, then use warm water with a mild soap, then quickly dry with a soft cotton cloth.
Hope this helps, and well done for what sounds a wonderful boot sale find.
Kind regards
