Heavy Bleeding in Early Pregnancy: Causes & What to Do
QuestionI want to start from the begining. About three months ago we experienced a misscarriage, our first one. I was about 3 1/2 months pregnant at the time. I am now pregnant again .. a very short time afterwards. I am going on 3 months pregnant and a couple of weeks ago (10 weeks preg)I experienced very heavy bleeding with clots. The blood was bright red. I went to emergency and they said that my cervex is still closed. I have had several ultrasounds and they say that I have an internal hemerage but they can not tell me where the blood is coming from and what level of risk this is to my baby. I am very frusterated if you can imagine and I just want to know what are my chances? Is this a really bad sign or can this be some what normal and ok for baby to survive? Do you know of where the blood is coming from or what could have started it?

AnswerHI Lisa,
actually hemorrhages do happen and the outcome is ok, however, you really need to ask your ob these questions and get them answered. If your ob doesn't have the time to sit with you especially since you are a high risk pregnancy, then it is time to move on to someone who will. This is really important because stress is also not good for you. Let me know what they tell you and maybe I can answer those questions for you, there are many reasons this bleeding can happen.
