Heavy Bleeding After Medical Abortion: What's Normal & When to Seek Help
QuestionI am experiencing very heavy bleeding on the second day of my first period after my medical abortion. I have been going through 2-3 tampons an hour for the last 2 hours. Is it normal to have this heavy of a bleeding? The first day of the period was normal with some clots but from what i have read this is fine. But I am concerned about the excessive bleeding on the second day. Should I wait and see if it persists or should I seek medical attention?
AnswerHello, ashleigh,
Having a pill abortion isn't normal, and neither are any of the consequences. That said, heavy bleeding is common. It can be life threatening, so you do need to do something about it. First, cayenne may help with the bleeding. This is red hot peppers, and you can get it in food or take capsules. Hot Mexican food is a good source. Mexican food "dumbed down" for gringos probably isn't adequate. The other thing to watch for is hemorrhage. Cayenne should also help there. If you start to hemorrhage, have someone take you to the emergency room immediately. Your life is in danger. Please let me know how you do, and feel free to ask other questions.
