Glucophage and Fertility (TTC): Understanding the Connection

My Dr has given me a prescription for glucophage. My insulin and glucose levels are normal, so I am not sure how this drug will help me. I am about 30 pounds overweight (have been since childhood - was more at one time), but also very active (weight training, aerobic activity, and yoga regularly). My TSH levels are normal and my progesterone was 1.0 on CD 23 (about 40 day cycle this time, which is long for me - usually 30-34 days). My FSH was 2.3 and LH 8.3, also on CD 23, and I think I may have ovulated 3 days later (maybe the reason for the elevated LH?). I am looking for an opionion on taking this medication or if there are further tests I should get before taking. Thanks for any insight!

I am not sure how to answer this because I don't know from which angle you need. Are you asking about taking the glucophage for blood sugar management, to take during a pregnancy, for being overweight. Reexplain what you want me to answer to. thanks
