Makeup Tips for Freckled Skin: Enhance, Don't Conceal!

Dear Elaine,
I am a new comer to the makeup world, but I know my way around. My problem is that I have tons of freckles. EVERY WHERE. They can be annoying, but I find my freckles are one of my cutest features. However, I can't find any makeup to compliment my freckles, while still evening out the rest of my face. I can only find makeup meant to cover them. Is there any makeup made for complimenting freckles? Or should I just cover them up?

I agree - freckles can be an attractive feature!

Freckles which is an irregular pigmentation happens because of uneven production of melanin.
You may notice that your freckles become more pronounced in the sun due to the UVA rays.
There are a few options of lightening if you are interested such as:
- Mequinol a pigment lightener and is available by prescription
- Retinoids - dermatologists can prescribe this as well
- Ascorbic acid
