Postpartum Complications: What to Watch For & Questions to Ask

Question
Hi - My sister delivered a baby boy last night after a very difficult delivery.  Today she is running a fever and they say she is spitting up black stuff.  I am so worried.  Is there any guidance you can provide to me.  What would be the most relevant questions for us to ask her OB?  I appreciate a quick answer her as time is of the essence.

Answer
How high is her fever? Is she vomiting up blood or is she coughing up blood? What do you mean by "black stuff". Where is she located? Is she in a hospital. Did she have a vaginal delivery or a cesarean section? In order for me to give an opinion, I have to know more details of the delivery and of your sister's case.
