Understanding Fetal Positioning & Induction Concerns

Question
My first due date was May 20.  Then after a sonogram, it was moved up to May 11.  My doctor told me if I didn't have it by the 20th, he would induce.  Should I be concerned?  Also, when will the baby turn and be head down?  Does it have to be in the birth canal, or will it be turned before it reaches the birth canal?

Answer
Hello Charlene. DO NOT allow an induction- most lead to sections because baby is NOT ready. Have you been told that the baby is NOT head down? If you know for sure that your baby is butt down, you need to contact a local midwife and have her work with you to get the baby to turn- it needs to happen soon or it won't happen. All the best- Cheri.
