Irregular Periods & Potential Pregnancy: What to Do

Question
I am 23 yrs. old with no children. Last menstral was April 23, 2004. I have been on the patch not quiet a year. I had missed two days of changing it. My period before last was on April 2, 2004. I wasn't suppose to start until the April 30th. Well my husband got laid off and on that day I started my period. I was 7 days early. I had regualar periods for a while now but when I started on the April 23rd, I went for almost 14 days straigt. On the 10th of May I showed signs of ovulation. My husband and I had intercourse on the 8th and then the 10th. Is it possible to have gotten pregnant being as I am on the patch? I know I missed two days and I don't know if that is the reason it threw my cycle off. Today, 11th of May I noticed I am not ovulating any discharge like yesterday but I am having sharp pains going through my breast. Also, I don't remember ever having the discharge while I was consistant with the patch. I just would like to know what my chances are of my being pregnant? Please help me.

Answer
Since the patch is changed weekly, if you did not change the patch twice in a row, you may have ovulated and could, indeed, have conceived. If your last period started on April 23, and you missed two weeks of patches, you would have ovulated around May 6. You could have conceived if you had sex around May 5,6,7, or 8. If you did, indeed, conceive, a pregnancy test will not show a positive result until 14-21 days later. I would suggest that you take a pregnancy test on May 27 if you do not get your period before then.
