Pregnancy Risk Before Period: What to Expect & When to Test

The first day of my last period was April 1, 2006.  They usually last 4-7 days and run about every 5 weeks.  My next period is due anyday.  I have been using the "natural" birth control method in terms of not having unprotected sex during the two weeks before my period is due.  But...yesterday, we slipped.  How likely is it to get pregnant right before your period is due?  AND - How long should I wait before taking a test if my period doesn't come?

If your last period started on April 1, you would have ovulated on April 14 and, the earliest you could have conceived was if you had sex on april 13,14,15, or 16. You could not have conceived if yoo had sex a day prior to your next period because it is too far away from the day you ovulted. The best time to take a pregnancy test is seven days after missing your period. You were due for your period on April 28.Therefore,if you do not get your period by May 4, take a pregnancy test.
